Design options in Archicad

Archicad developed by Graphisoft, is the industry leading BIM software for architects and construction professionals. Over the course of one year (Mar. 2020 to Feb. 2023), I have been working on developing a new feature in Archicad called Design options. Design options are the variations in the model in any phase of the project.

Design options as the new key feature.

Each year Graphisoft promises it’s users a set of key features to be developed in the next release of Archicad. In 2023, Variants (Release name: Design Options) is the key feature promised.

Collaborating with two other designers, we went through all the design process phases from discovery, user interviews & surveys, user journey mapping, user story mapping with developers and prototyping. Currently (Feb. 2023), I am working on multiple usability tests to validate few workflows before the planned release.
